A new landfill biogas-to-energy plant<\/strong> with installed capacity of 12,8 MW<\/strong> is currently under construction in Jaboat\u00e3o dos Guararapes<\/strong>, Brazil. With this project, that will be completed by 2019<\/strong>, Asja is strengthening its presence in the country\u2019s renewable energy sector.<\/p>\n Asja has already built three biogas plants in Brazil, the last of them being opened in September 2017 at Sabar\u00e0 landfill<\/a>.<\/p>\n The new plant will have a positive impact on the local community, since it will generate about 95,000 MWh<\/strong> of clean energy yearly, enough to meet the energy needs of 52,000 people<\/strong> and to prevent the emission of more than 300,000 ton of CO2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Asja has already signed two power purchase agreements<\/strong> with main local companies that guarantee the sale of part of the nominal capacity of the plant for 5 years. These agreements are consistent with the payback period<\/strong> of the project and thus will provide for the repayment of the investment.
